Detox

Deep summer detox

Our minds and bodies are constantly processing food, drink, thoughts, and emotions. To ensure they remain in optimal condition, regularly try taking some time for a detox. Here are some detox techniques:

 Physical detox

Oil pulling: Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic technique that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for nearly 20 minutes. This action draws out toxins in your mouth and overall body for improved health.

 Tongue Scraping:

In Ayurveda, tongue coating is called "ama" and reflects metabolic debris. Starting your day with gently scraping your tongue is an excellent (and quick) way to rurid your body of accumulated toxins.

Dry brushing: this practice involves using a dry brush to unclog your pores of dead skin and has the impact of a stimulating lymphatic massage that refreshes your skin and offers deep relaxation.

 Hydration

In the cold weather, a cup of kawa tea works wonders.

If you are a coffee drinker, switch to herbal tea for your detox day.

Make an alkaline vegetable broth and sip throughout the day for a gentle cleanse.

Cleanse Your Mind

Pranayama connects the breath and the mind and can help to remove stagnant thoughts.

Deep breathing can help us bring our mind to the present moment.

Listening to uplifting flute and sitar melodies can help us reset our negative emotions
